What the UMH Master does
The UMH Master is a passive in-line device that sits on your main water line, after whole-home filtration and before the house. Water is put through a controlled vortex inside a gold-plated brass chamber, past handcrafted borosilicate glass vials that never touch the water. No power, no media, nothing to replace.
It is not a filter and it is not certified as one. A whole-home filtration system deals with what is in the water; the Master deals with how the water moves. Filtration first, structuring after, the same order as at the kitchen sink.
Pipe sizing, and which one you need
The Master comes in two connection sizes. The 1 inch Master supports 14.9 gallons per minute and up and covers homes of one to five bathrooms. The 1.5 inch Master Pro supports a higher flow rate and is the one for six bathrooms and up.
If you run whole-home filtration, the 1 inch Master pairs with 1 inch systems and the 1.5 inch Master Pro pairs with 1.25 inch systems. If you do not, size it by the number of bathrooms.

Structured water draws more hype than almost anything else in this category, and most of it does the idea no favors. Here is how we actually think about it.
A stream never runs in a straight line. It spirals over every rock and drop on its way down, and a spring is water that has been through thousands of those turns. A pipe pushes water straight, under pressure, for miles. Putting the spiral back in the last few feet before the glass is not a strange idea. It is the ordinary one. Water moving through a vortex behaves differently from water moving in a straight line, and that is the only mechanism a structuring device relies on.
Taste, first and most often: that it tastes like spring water instead of nothing, and that it is noticeably different to drink. Structuring has become the part of the Hydration Stack people mention first when they call back, which is why it has never come out of the Stack. That is what customers report, in their words, and we pass it on as exactly that.
Whether the change lasts long enough, and matters enough, to affect the person drinking the water. Research suggests the mechanism is real. The studies are small and most are in animals, so no health outcome is established and we will not claim one. We would rather say that plainly here than have you find it out later.
That is also why we sell structuring as the last step and never the first. On water that is already filtered and remineralized, it is doing the one thing it is for.

Is this a filter?
No. It reduces no contaminants and carries no NSF/ANSI certification, because it is not a filtration device. If your water needs cleaning, use a filter or a reverse osmosis system first and structure afterwards.
Is structured water scientifically proven?
The mechanism is established fluid dynamics: water moving through a vortex behaves differently from water pushed in a straight line. Whether that difference produces a measurable health outcome in the person drinking it is still being studied, and the research that exists is small and largely in animals. We will not tell you it is settled, because it is not.
Do I need to filter before I structure?
For the result most people are after, yes. The order is filter, then put the minerals back if you are on reverse osmosis, then structure. A structuring device will work on unfiltered city water, but it will not make that water clean.
Which size do I need?
The 1 inch Master has a 1 inch connection, supports 14.9 gallons per minute and up, and covers one to five bathrooms. The 1.5 inch Master Pro has a 1.5 inch connection and is the one for six bathrooms and up. Do I still need a whole-home filter?
Yes, if you want the contaminants dealt with. The Master structures water; it does not clean it. It goes after a whole-home filtration system, not instead of one.
Does it cover the showers?
Yes. Because it sits on the main line, every fixture in the house runs structured: showers, baths, the kitchen, the garden.
Is there anything to replace?
No. No media, no cartridges, no power. It is maintenance-free once installed.
What is the warranty?
Five years, covering manufacturing defects. The same on every UMH device.
Where is it made?
Hand-built in Austria, in 24 karat gold-plated lead-free brass, and TÜV EU certified. That certification covers how the device is built, not a performance claim about the water.
