Replacement Filter · True HEPA + Carbon

What the GoodFor air filter replacement is.

The GoodFor Air Filter Replacement is the True HEPA and activated-carbon filter cartridge that restores your GoodFor Anti-Virus Air Filtration System to full 99.97% particle capture. It is made specifically for that unit — it is not a universal filter, and it is sized to seat correctly so air flows through the media instead of around it.

A filter only works while it is clean. As it loads up with the pollen, dust, dander, and smoke it has pulled out of your air, it captures less and makes the fan work harder. Swapping it on schedule is what keeps the air quality — and the machine itself — performing the way it did on day one.

Don't have the unit yet? It's the GoodFor Anti-Virus Air Filtration System. Need a different refill? Browse all replacement filters.

When To Replace

When to replace your air filter.

Replace the GoodFor air filter about every six months with regular daily use, or up to every twelve months if you run the unit only occasionally. Air quality, pets, smoke, and how many hours a day it runs all move that window — so it's worth knowing the signs as well as the schedule.

  • Airflow feels weaker on the same mode and fan speed
  • Odors linger instead of clearing the way they used to
  • The air-quality sensor stays elevated longer before settling
  • The filter looks gray or discolored compared to a fresh one

A loaded filter doesn't only clean less — it forces the fan to pull harder to move air through it. Staying on schedule protects both your air and the life of the unit.

Why It Matters

What a fresh filter brings back.

A new filter returns the unit to 99.97% capture of fine particles and full activated-carbon capacity for odors, smoke, and VOCs. Over months of use, the HEPA layer fills with trapped particles and the carbon gradually saturates — at which point the unit is still running, but doing less with every pass. A replacement resets both jobs at once: particle capture and odor adsorption.

Because the GoodFor system uses mechanical filtration with no ozone or chemical byproducts, the only maintenance it asks of you is this swap. Keep it on schedule and the unit quietly does the rest.

How To Change It

Changing the filter takes about a minute.

No tools required. The filter sits inside the unit and lifts straight out, so a swap is quick enough to do the day your replacement arrives.

01

Power down

Turn the unit off and unplug it before opening the housing.

02

Remove the old filter

Open the filter housing — usually the base or back panel — and lift out the spent cartridge.

03

Seat the new one

Place the fresh filter, close the housing, and plug back in. If your unit tracks filter life, reset the indicator.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How often should I replace the filter?
Replace the GoodFor air filter about every six months with regular daily use, or up to every twelve months if you run the unit only occasionally. Heavy use, pets, wildfire smoke, or running it around the clock will shorten that window, so use the schedule as a baseline and the warning signs as your real cue.
How do I know it's time to replace it?
Four signs point to a spent filter: airflow feels weaker on the same fan setting, odors linger instead of clearing, the air-quality sensor stays elevated longer than it used to before settling, and the filter looks visibly gray or discolored next to a fresh one. Any one of these means it's time to swap.
Will this fit my air purifier?
This replacement is made specifically for the GoodFor Anti-Virus Air Filtration System. It is not a universal filter — it is sized and rated to seat correctly in that unit so air passes through the media rather than around it. If you own the GoodFor air filter, this is the correct refill.
What does the replacement filter capture?
A fresh filter restores 99.97% capture of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns — pollen, dust, pet dander, mold spores, and smoke — through the True HEPA layer, plus odor, smoke, and VOC adsorption through the activated carbon. In other words, it brings back everything the unit was doing when the filter was new.
How does Subscribe & Save work, and can I cancel?
Subscribe & Save delivers a fresh filter automatically on your replacement schedule at a lower price than a one-time purchase. You can skip a shipment, change the timing, or cancel anytime — there is no long-term commitment. It is the simplest way to make sure the unit is never running on a filter that's past its prime.
Can I wash or reuse the old filter?
No. True HEPA media is not washable — rinsing it damages the fibers that do the filtering and won't restore capture, and a damp filter can grow mold. The pre-filter that catches large debris can often be vacuumed, but the HEPA and carbon cartridge is designed to be replaced, not cleaned.
What happens if I keep running a spent filter?
A spent filter captures fewer particles and adsorbs fewer odors, so air quality drops even though the unit looks like it's working. It also forces the fan to pull harder against a clogged filter, which adds strain over time. Replacing on schedule keeps both the air and the machine in good shape.
