Heavy metals, nitrates and cysts
Certified reduction of lead, arsenic (V), cadmium, hexavalent and trivalent chromium, selenium, nitrate and nitrite, cysts like Giardia and Cryptosporidium, and dissolved solids.
Chlorine taste and odor
Certified reduction of chlorine taste and odor and Class III particulate, so the water tastes like nothing, which is the point.
Lead-free materials
Every cartridge and fitting certified lead-free. Four stages in three cartridges: a carbon block with an ultrafiltration layer, the RO membrane, and a carbon post-filter.

A check means the WQA tested the 7000 against that contaminant and certified the reduction, at the test conditions in the performance data sheet. The RO membrane also reduces PFAS and fluoride by design; the certified figures for those in our lineup are on the GoodFor 8500.

Most plumbers and handymen have it running in about an hour. It goes under the kitchen sink, the faucet sits on the counter, the tank sits beside the unit. Minimum 40 psi of house pressure.

Will it fit under my sink?
The unit is 13" wide, 5" deep and 13" tall and hangs on the cabinet wall; the 2.8-gallon tank (14" tall, 10" across) stands on the cabinet floor beside it. A standard sink base has the room. One set, about every two years.
For a family of three or four, the full set of three about every two years on average: $339, on Auto-Ship Filters if you would rather not have to remember. More people in the house, every 12 to 18 months depending on usage. The TDS meter in the box tells you when. Nothing else wears out. Tank and valves carry a 10-year warranty, and the warranty stays with you, the original purchaser, not the house.
Put that next to what you buy now. A case of bottled water a week is around $600 a year, or two pitcher cartridges a month at $25 each. The set every two years is a fraction of either.

Does it reduce PFAS?
The RO membrane reduces PFAS by design. The 7000 carries NSF/ANSI 42, 58 and 372; the certified PFAS figure in our lineup (99% of PFOA and PFOS, NSF/ANSI 53) is on the GoodFor 8500.
How often do I change the filters?
For a family of three or four, the full set of three about every two years on average. More people, every 12 to 18 months depending on usage. The TDS meter tells you: around 60 to 70 is right; when it drops toward 30, it is time.
Is RO water bad for you?
Reverse osmosis takes the minerals out with the contaminants. Add the Sango Coral if you want calcium, magnesium and over 70 ocean-derived trace minerals back, two years per cartridge.
Why only three cartridges?
Stage one is a carbon block with an ultrafiltration layer in the same cartridge, so you get four stages with three parts to replace. Fewer cartridges, fewer things to forget.
Should I wait for a tankless system?
A tankless unit needs a plug. Lose power in a storm and you lose your drinking water. This one runs on house pressure alone.
