If you buy spring water in glass, this is for you

Purified, remineralized and structured, at your sink. Here is what each word means on the Stack.

Any reverse osmosis system can print "purified" and "remineralized" on the box. The difference is what, exactly, comes out of the water, what goes back in, and whether anyone tested it. Here is the Stack, line by line.

Step one

Purify

Takes the contaminants out. The GoodFor 8500 reverse osmosis unit with its four cartridges

The GoodFor 8500 reverse osmosis. Certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58, 401 and 372 and CSA B483.1, tested by the WQA under set pressure. These are the certified reductions, not the brochure.

Why this one

Two numbers to look for on any RO: 53 and 401.

NSF/ANSI 53 is the PFAS and VOC standard. NSF/ANSI 401 is pharmaceuticals, hormones and BPA. A system without them is not certified for those, whatever the box says. The GoodFor 8500 carries both, plus 42, 58 and 372.

Runs on water pressure alone. Lose power in a storm, you still have your water.

Step two

Remineralize

Puts the minerals back. The GoodFor Sango Coral cartridge filled with fossilized coral

Reverse osmosis takes the minerals out with the contaminants. The GoodFor Sango Coral puts them back, from fossilized Okinawan Sango coral. Food-grade, lab-tested, nothing synthetic.

The same calcium-to-magnesium ratio the coral formed with. The pH rises because the minerals are there, not because an alkaline additive pushed the number.

Why this one

"Remineralized" on most RO systems means an alkaline cartridge.

Mineral balls of unstated origin that raise a pH number, get replaced every 6 to 12 months, and are the reason "alkaline water" so often tastes fishy or metallic. Coral is different: it is the mineral, in the ratio the ocean set, and it lasts two years. Trace remineralization through Sango coral is unique to GoodFor.

Step three

Structure

Structures it as it pours. The UMH Pure brass structuring device

The UMH Pure, the last device before your glass. Built to structure water as it pours, with nothing to plug in and nothing to replace.

Builtby hand, in Austria

The research on structured water is early, mostly on plants and animals. What our customers tell us: the coral and the UMH Pure together are the reason the water tastes like spring water instead of nothing.

Why this one

Almost every RO stops at minerals. The Stack adds a structuring step.

Bottled water sat in a truck, on a shelf and in your pantry before you drank it. The Stack adds its structuring step at the moment the water pours, every time.

What the Stack does, and what it does not.

One faucet, at the kitchen sink: the water you drink and cook with. The shower, the laundry and the bath are a different system. Most people start here, because drinking water is the fast win, and look at the whole home later. If the whole home is where your head is, that is a free call, not a checkout.

What it costs, and what it costs to keep

You are already paying about $25 a case for this water.

Glass-bottled spring water runs about $25 a case of six. Some of the newest bottles say spring-sourced on the front, then purified and remineralized on the back: purified, remineralized water, in a bottle, at $4 each. The Stack makes purified, remineralized, structured water at your sink, and after year one the only cost is the cartridges.

To keep it: the four RO cartridges ($369) and the Sango Coral ($289) every two years on average, on Subscribe & Save if you want it. The UMH Pure, never. The TDS meter in the box tells you when: around 60 to 70 is right; when it drops toward 30, it is time.

A year of drinking water, for a home that drinks a gallon a day

Bottled figures at $25 a case of six 1-liter bottles and $4 a single-serve 1-liter bottle. Stack figure is the sale price plus nothing else in year one.

Spring water by the case, in glass$5,800
Single-serve "spring-sourced" 1-liter bottles$5,500+
The Hydration Stack, year one$1,999
The Hydration Stack, every year after$329

The Stack costs about four months of case water. After that, the cartridges run under a dollar a day.

Your household may drink more or less than a gallon a day; the proportions hold either way. Cartridge cost is the two-year set, $369 for the four RO cartridges and $289 for the Sango Coral, averaged per year. Shipping is free in the US.

Life with the Stack

What changes once it is under your sink.

The Stack replaces the case of water, the pitcher in the fridge and the filter you keep meaning to change. One faucet, one kind of water, for everything you drink and cook with.

Your days

No more cases.

A glass, a pot of pasta, the coffee maker, the baby's formula, the dog's bowl: all from the same faucet, all the same water. Nothing to carry, store or run out of.

The same water, every time you pour it.

Purified, remineralized and structured at the moment it pours. It never sat in a truck, on a shelf or in a bottle. The taste people notice first is the minerals; the thing they notice second is that they drink more.

Nothing to think about for two years.

Then the four RO cartridges and the coral, on Subscribe & Save if you want the reminder handled for you. The UMH Pure is never replaced. No power, no app, no red light to ignore.

Before you buy

The questions people ask right before they buy.

Doesn't reverse osmosis strip everything? Isn't that water dead?

Yes, RO takes the minerals out with the contaminants. That is why the Sango Coral is in the Stack. It puts calcium, magnesium and over 70 ocean-derived trace minerals back from fossilized coral. Nothing synthetic.

Why not a $36 alkaline cartridge?

Something is better than nothing. An alkaline cartridge raises a pH number and gets replaced every 6 to 12 months. The coral replaces the minerals your body uses and lasts two years.

I already have an RO. Do I need the whole Stack?

No. Add the GoodFor Sango Coral, or the Sango Coral and the UMH Pure, to the RO you have.

Other systems say 14 stages and 0 ppm. This says 4 stages and 99%.

Stages count parts. 99% PFOA and PFOS, 96.3% lead, 96.5% fluoride are the numbers the GoodFor 8500 is certified to, tested by the WQA under set pressure. No one in this industry should claim 100% of anything.

Should I wait for a tankless version?

A tankless unit needs a plug. Lose power in a storm and you lose your drinking water, which is when you want it most. The Stack runs on water pressure alone.

Do I need a plumber?

Most plumbers and handymen do it in about an hour. In San Diego, Orange, Riverside, Los Angeles, Houston, Austin, Tampa and Miami, we do it.

Is the faucet in the photos the one I get?

The Stack ships with its own drinking water faucet in chrome, brushed nickel or matte black. If you would rather not add a second faucet, the 2-in-1 kitchen and RO faucet (sold separately) replaces your main faucet and does both.

Does it fit under a farm sink?

Usually. The cartridges can mount to the side of the cabinet and the tank can lie on its side. Send a photo to hello@thegoodforco.com before you order if you are not sure.

What about the shower and the rest of the house?

That is a whole-home system, and the right one depends on your water report and your plumbing. A GoodFor water specialist reads your report with you on a free call and sends a written proposal. There is no checkout for whole home because the right system depends on your water report. Book the free call.
